HOW ARE YOUR WIGS MADE?

All wigs are custom-made by hand-sewing at XclusiveTe using a mesh dome cap or ventilated caps.

Every wig comes Ready to Wear: fully customized and styled with bleached & preplucked knots. We do all the work for you! If you’d like your lace cut, just add it in the notes. We also provide free lace razors so you can cut it yourself if you prefer.

Head measurements are required for correct sizing, as one wig does not fit all. An elastic band is added to all wigs for extra support.

HOW DO I MEASURE MY HEAD?

It is very important that you measure your head accurately prior to ordering a wig from us. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us for further instructions.

Head Measurement Instructions:

  1. Get a soft measuring tape: This can be found online or at a local craft store.

  2. Prepare your hair: Before you begin to take your head measurements, make sure that your hair is either braided or pinned down the same way you would wear it under the wig. Try to get your hair in a flat foundation.

  3. Measure gently: While measuring your head, do not pull the measuring tape too tight.

  4. Lay the tape flat: Ensure that the measuring tape isn't twisted and is lying flat on your head.

  5. Follow the diagram: Take your head measurements using the diagram shown below.

Accurate measurements are crucial to ensure a perfect fit for your custom wig.

Required Measurements: Four head measurements are required for custom wigs. If you do not provide these measurements, all measurements will be averaged to the head circumference size used at checkout or a standard size medium.

Important Notes:

  • We are not responsible for incorrect sizing if you do not send in your measurements.
  • If you do not see a wig size option to choose from (S, M, L), you must add your size in the notes at checkout or send an email to xclusivete.co@gmail.com.
  • When measuring for your correct wig size, please ensure your hair is as flat as it will be under your wig or part your hair where the required measurements are needed.
  • You cannot guess your head size. Take into consideration if you have very long hair, give yourself space with measurements as the wigs are very fitting.

How Many Bundles Do I Need?

  • Ponytails: 1-2 Bundles
  • 12-16 inches (Bob length): 2 Bundles
  • 18-26 inches: 3 Bundles
  • 28-34 inches: 4 Bundles
  • 36-40 inches: 5 Bundles

Please note this is based on your desired look and fullness. If you prefer a thicker, fuller look, consider adding an extra bundle!

Which Closure or Frontal is best due to my Head Size?

Extra Small/ Small: 2x6C, 4x4C, 5x5C, 13x4F

Average/ Medium: 2x6C, 4x4C, 5x5C, 6x6C, 13x4F

Large: 4x4C, 5x5C, 6x6C, 7x7C, 13x4F, 13x6F

What's the Difference Between Closures and Frontals?

Amount of Lace Coverage:

  • Closures offer less lace coverage compared to frontals, making them easier to maintain and style. They require less manipulation, can look more natural, and typically last longer.
  • Frontals provide a larger area of lace, which offers ear to ear & more versatility in styling. You can wear your hair in multiple ways with a frontal. However, they are more delicate, need to be replaced more often, and require daily manipulation and styling. They are not recommended for first-time users.

Installation:

  • Closures are generally easier to install and maintain.
  • Frontals usually require an install using gel, spray, or glue to ensure a secure fit.

Choose closures for a low-maintenance, natural look or frontals for versatile styling options.

I'm New to Wigs, What Do You Recommend?

Try out our Glueless Closure Wigs. Yes, you can actually wear it completely glueless—no adhesive required! Throw it on and go, while remaining secure with your perfectly tailored fit unit! **ALL of our closure wigs are 100% glueless. Frontal wigs WILL require some form of installation.

For first-time wig wearers, we recommend starting with a lace closure wig. Closure wigs require little maintenance, making them ideal for beginners.

We also suggest trying Swiss lace, HD lace, or transparent lace closures. These options provide a natural look and are easy to manage for those new to wearing wigs.

Once you get used to wearing wigs with beginner-friendly lace, you can explore lace frontal wigs. After becoming comfortable with lace closures/frontals, you might want to try an HD lace piece for an even more natural appearance.

Always remember that all lace closures or frontals must be handled with great care to preserve the quality of the lace piece.

What are common mistakes that can ruin a wig?

  • Over bleaching: This can cause the hair to break off.
  • Over plucking: Results in bald spots on the lace.
  • Washing with low-quality products: Opt for high-quality hair products to maintain the wig's health.
  • Excessive heat styling: Minimize heat usage to prevent heat damage.
  • Not protecting at night: Use a silk scarf or bonnet to prevent tangling during sleep.

Can I color the hair?

Yes, you can color both our natural black hair and 613 blonde hair. 

 

What Is Your Turnaround Time?

Ready To Ship Wigs & Bundles:

  • Shipped 1-3 business days after ordering.
  • Eligible for same-day shipping if ordered before 4pm.
  • Pick-ups in the 757 VA area (Hampton, Newport News) are allowed with no extra fee.
  • Drop-off is available in Hampton, Newport News, Norfolk, Suffolk, Virginia Beach, and Portsmouth with an extra fee depending on miles.

Custom Wigs:

  • Require 3-5 weeks of processing time.
  • Custom-made in order from the time the order is placed.

Bring Your Own Bundles Service:

  • Requires 1-2 weeks of processing time after receiving your hair.

Bundles, Closures & Frontals:

  • Require 5-10 business days of processing time if not listed as ready to ship.

Rush Order Services:

  • Processing time is 6-10 business days.
  • Email us to check eligibility for a specific date requested for expedited orders.

Please keep in mind, colored wigs may take longer to process due to the hours required to color, tone, deep condition, and style your unit. Processing times may be extended during holidays & sales.

Shipping Time:

Shipping time occurs after the processing period has finished.

  • United States: 1-3 Business Days via USPS Priority Mail
  • United States: Overnight to 2 Days via USPS Priority Mail Express
  • International: 6-10 Business Days via USPS Priority Mail or DHL (please send an email)

Expect delays during sales periods & holidays.
